Eton Casa Building

Project Scope and services

Mechanical and Plumbing design for a 9,997 SF major renovation to convert the second floor of a building from an office to a middle school. Includes reuse of existing heat pump rooftop units where practical and the addition of a new dedicated outdoor air unit with energy recovery for classroom ventilation.

Renton Health Sciences Center

LOcation: Renton, Wa • Year: Ongoing

Project Scope and services

Providing plumbing design for a new 3-story educational facility at Renton Technical College. The new facility will include learning spaces for Veterinary, Dental and Nursing assistants as well as sterilization lab, Surgery set-ups, Operating rooms and Anesthesia Technologists. Providing design drawings, specifications, calculations, and other services for a public design-bid-build delivery process. Targeting LEED Silver.

Highland Park Improvement Club

LOcation: Seattle, Wa • Year: Ongoing

Project Scope and services

Providing HVAC and Plumbing design for a new community center building including event space and kitchen. Providing design drawings, permit set drawings, and construction drawings, and project support during construction. This project is a rehabilitation to a building with substantial fire damage. Design includes High Efficiency Variable Refrigerant Volume Heat Pump Units and Dedicated outdoor air ventilation unit.

harborview medical center facilities master plan

LOcation: Seattle, Wa • Year: 2024

Project Scope and services

As a senior mechanical engineer as part of the mechanical subcontractor team, HVAC Double Check is helping develop the Master Facilities Planning document for Harborview Medical Center, which will include new construction as well as renovation of older buildings. Serves as a technical resource listening to Harborview’s concerns, analyzing as-builts, and production.

UW Facilities Design Standards Update

LOcation: Seattle, Wa • Year: 2023

Project Scope and services

In the role of a technical advisor, provided suggestions and feedback on updating and rewriting the UW Facilities Design Standards documentation. Gathered information on the concerns about the existing system and advised on how to re-write the standards to be consistent with industry standards.

Dialysis clinic Tenant IMPROVEMENT

LOcation: Federal way, Wa • Year: 2023

Project Scope and services

HVAC and Plumbing design for a new outpatient dialysis clinic. Provided permit drawings, construction drawings, bidding support, and project support during construction. Project scope was similar to a new build, as no equipment was reused. Design included new rooftop packaged heat pumps, split system heat pump and biomed and laboratory exhaust. Plumbing design included dialysis waste, RO water piping and dialysis water piping.

Mechanical design and investigation for an improvement project to improve the efficiency and reliability of an existing chiller plant. 

Sycamore Glen Assisted Living

LOcation: Chewelah, Wa • Year: 2021

Project Scope and services

Mechanical design for a large addition to an assisted living facility including 34 new patient rooms, kitchen, dining, and resident activity spaces. The design included new heat pump air handling units with energy recovery, and ventilation calculations to meet department of health guidelines.

life science / office tenant improvement

Project Scope and services

Mechanical design for 5 floors of life science lab and office space in downtown Seattle. The design included incorporation of existing air handling equipment to meet the new requirements of the laboratory space. The project was LEED certified and included a high efficiency variable volume system in the office and constant volume for the laboratory spaces.

Process chilled water system Review

LOcation: Redmond, Wa • Year: 2021

Project Scope and services

Review of an existing process chilled water system with breakdowns in thermal chamber equipment used for product testing. Our team of experts performed multiple site visits to compare the installed design to the engineered drawings. Expertly diagnosed the problem that had been causing issues for years.

phinney ave apartments

Project Scope and services

Mechanical design for a new construction multifamily project in Seattle. The design included energy recovery for corridors and community spaces and ductless split systems for the residences.

Ray residence

LOcation: Hunt’s point, Wa • Year: 2021

Project Scope and services

Mechanical design for an upscale residence in Hunt’s point. The design included gas furnaces with air conditioning, whole house ventilation and direct vent gas fireplaces.

Indoor Pool mechanical upgrade

Location: Bellevue, Wa • Year: 2021

Project Scope and services

Mechanical permit and VGB compliance for an existing pool and spa located in a multifamily building in Bellevue. Performed multiple site visits to document the existing system and worked with the department of health reviewer to identify the changes required for compliance.
